Robbie originally studied Theoretical Physics at the University of Sussex before spending three years at The Creative Assembly programming historical strategy games including Rome: Total War.

He started working at Stratascan in April 2007 as a part-time ‘AutoCAD technician / data processor’ whilst studying Archaeology and Landscape Studies part-time at the University of Worcester. With this course now complete, Robbie works full-time at Stratascan as a Project Officer, managing projects, interpreting data and writing reports.

During his archeology course, Robbie specialised in British prehistory and advanced geospatial analysis. His independent research project developed new GIS methods to predict the skyline visibility of ancient monuments.

In his spare time, Robbie enjoys walking, climbing and photography. He has climbed alpine peaks and Scottish ice gullies but spends most time on or around the local Malvern Hills, often lugging around a Wista Field large format view camera.
