Introduction

Since early in 2007 Stratascan have been the sole supplier of geophysics solutions to the team of forensic investigators working with the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains (ICLVR). The team are charged with the development and investigation of information pertinant to the whereabouts of the remains of the Disappeared including carrying out site searches.

Stratascan have worked with many police forces within the UK to assist in crime scene investigations. The main technique normally used is ground probing radar searching gardens, waste land and within buildings for areas of disturbance and assessing the anomalies found against suspected targets.

Stratascan, a privately owned contracing company, has its details held on the Expert Advisers Database of the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) 

We are also part AFIS - a team of archaeo-forensic investigation and search consultants. AFIS work internationally to help governments carry out investigations and searches for the remains of victims of past conflicts. The AFIS website can be viewed here www.afis-c.com.
